<h1><b>Spitfire MkIa</b> N3162</h1>
<p>The Battle of Britain provided the platform for the Spitfire to earn its reputation as a fast, agile and formidable fighter. This Microaces kit faithfully reproduces N3162, flown by Eric Lock during the Battle, on the day he became a fighter ace. It boasts a level of detail that creates a sense of realism never seen before at this scale, including under-wing radiator intakes, removable undercarriage and many illustrated features specific to the mark and period in which the aircraft was originally flown. </p><h1><b>Pilot Officer</b> Eric S.Lock</h1>
<p>Born in Shropshire in 1919, Eric Stanley Lock joined the RAF in 1939 to play his part in WWII. Initially frustrated by being posted in the North of England but eventually posted to RAF Hornchurch in the South East with his squadron, right into the heart of the Battle of Britain. Eric frequently notched up multiple victories over both Luftwaffe bombers and fighter escorts in single missions. His determination and fighting spirit saw him become the highest scoring British pilot of the Battle. </p><h1><b>FLYING </b>HISTORY</h1>
<p>As with all Microaces kits, the enjoyment is not just about the build or the flying or even finding out about the history behind each aircraft, it's the sum of all these parts that gives the greatest pleasure. Perfecting scale chandelles, loops and barrel rolls will give the greatest sense of achievement for some. To others it will be sitting back and enjoying the detail with slow, steady and low level flypasts. Build, fly and enjoy. Microaces is Flying History!</p>

Spitfire MkIa

flown by E. Lock in the Battle of Britain 1940

Eric reacted instinctively as the staccato noise of hot lead from an unseen enemy struck his Spit. He pulled hard into a steep climb forcing the Bf109 to stall behind him. Turning his aircraft into a dive he fired the 8 Browning machine guns causing the Messerschmitt to explode. The Microaces kit of Eric Lock's Battle of Britain Spitfire has incredible detail including under-wing radiators, down to the rivet detail and removable scale undercarriage

Everything is included in this 1/24th profile scale kit to enable you to build the complete airframe ready to install your compatible motor, ESC and RC equipment. Add the Spitfire Artwork to your kit and help raise funds for the RAFBF.

Spitfire 'Museum Art' for RAFBF

We create some serious artwork each time we release a new kit but we've gone a little further with the Spitfire and produced a Museum Art print showing the Spitfire at rest with a short history of No.41 Squadron which it was allocated too and Pilot Officer Eric Lock who was flying this particular aircraft during the Battle of Britain

This 21cm x 36cm print is available as a limited print of 500 that carries the mark of the RAF Benevolent Fund. All profits from the sale of this print will be donated directly to the charity. So even if the Spitfire kit is not on your radar, pick up the artwork and help a very worthy cause!
